Dennix Averion
Assistant Director, International Admissions
Email: world@pasionae.com

hello! my name is dennix averion and i am the assistant director for international admissions at george mason university. i first came to mason as an undergraduate student studying marketing and communication with a concentration in public relations. during my time as a student, i was highly involved with the filipino cultural association on campus and worked as a student leader for find, inc., a national nonprofit organization dedicated to the empowerment of young filipino american college students. i greatly enjoyed my time at mason and i am always excited whenever i get to share my experience with prospective students, especially international students!

my experience working as an undergraduate student admissions assistant for mason’s international recruitment team aided in my becoming passionate about higher education and working with international students. so much so, that i jumped at the opportunity to work for this very office after completing my bachelor of arts. i love that my work has a hand in further developing the growing diversity and global understanding on campus.

威尼斯人澳门官网i consider myself an international student in my own right, being born in manila, philippines and immigrating to the state of virginia in my formative years. i have firsthand experience in diving into a culture that was not particularly my own at first and understanding the uncertainty and excitement that comes with it. i was the first in my family to attend a us institution and had to learn how to navigate the intricacies of u.s. higher education for myself. it brings me great personal satisfaction that i am able to help international students learn about all of the exciting opportunities a us education can provide.

威尼斯人澳门官网please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about mason! i am more than happy and willing to help with the college admissions process. i look forward to hearing from you soon!

威尼斯人澳门官网Hello! My name is Elise Bowling and I am the International Admissions Counselor here at George Mason University. I graduated from Denison University with a degree in East Asian Studies and was very involved with the international student population on my campus, even becoming the vice president of the East Asian Culture Club on campus. While in university I did one year of off-campus studies in Tokyo, Japan and I had such a great experience that I knew I wanted to help other people make similar amazing memories living overseas!

威尼斯人澳门官网before joining the international team at george mason, i spent 2 years teaching english in incheon, south korea, almost one year living in taipei and studying mandarin at the national taiwan university, and almost 2 years at the massachusetts international academy where i helped chinese students apply to university and become accustomed to college life in america. just before i accepted my position as counselor here, i backpacked in europe for 3 months and i cannot wait for my next adventure in a new location.

威尼斯人澳门官网i am so thrilled to be able to interact with the diverse community at george mason and in the surrounding fairfax area as well as to bring a little bit of george mason into our recruitment abroad! planning to live and study overseas can seem daunting but i am here to help you in any way i can and i’m so honored to be one of the first to welcome you to the george mason community. i am excited to hear from you and help you begin your journey with us!
